Joe’s Blog - A Jukebox Musical
Joe is a popular, well-liked character who enjoys singing and performing. Sadly, one of his friends struggles to accept his talent and popularity.
This musical explores the effects of online bullying and how to overcome it with peer to peer support. All Music 4 U students are invited to participate in this project.
The original aim was to deliver this project to local schools from P4 to P7, however due to COVID, our Class of 2021 had to be recorded performing on stage with no live audience, but were delighted to be premiered on 25th September 2021 on the big screen at the VUE Cinema, Aberdeen.
On 9th June 2022, we were delighted to finally perform Joe's Blog live in front of an audience. Some of our talented students performed not once, but twice.
Our 2022 rendition of Joe’s Blog, a jukebox musical with an educational and emotional twist, centered around bullying and friendship. We are immensely grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland - Young Start, who fully funded this heartfelt project
On 26th October 2023, Our talented students were thrilled to bring the 2023 revamp of Joe’s Blog to the Beach Ballroom .
Our VIP audience of supporters, local schools and youth groups were invited to enjoy this fun jukebox musical with an educational twist!
Written by our very own M4U Founder & Creative Director, Debra Baxter, this musical explores the effects of online bullying and how to overcome it with peer to peer support. All Music 4 U students were invited to participate and we are looking forward to developing this project further over the coming months.
Any young person who expresses an interest in joining M4U are invited to attend a free taster session at one of our Workshops and are offered a ‘buddy’ who is an existing M4U participant to offer peer to peer support.
