This very special project has been curated by Music 4 U to offer guitar lessons at no cost to young people who would benefit from this life-changing opportunity to learn a musical instrument.

Our Creative Director, Debra, was inspired to develop the project following the kind donation of a beloved guitar by a bereaved parent following the loss of her only son, Ben. Ben’s Mum donated the guitar to Music 4 U with the idea that it may be auctioned or sold to raise some funds for us, but upon hearing more about the charity’s ‘no barriers’ approach in supporting young people fulfil their dreams, she and Debra decided the guitar could be put to great use; teaching the next generation of young musicians who wouldn’t have the means to buy a guitar or afford lessons.

We are delighted to announce that funding has been secured for this exciting project thanks to the Gordon Fraser Charitable Trust.

This project supports young people aged 8 - 16.

Please note: All participant spaces have now been assigned for this project.

Please email info@m4u.org.uk if you’d like to be added to our waiting list.

We’ve had a busy day at Music 4 U HQ working with students from the University of Stirling who are hard at work making a documentary about Isabel Lockhart and her very special donation to M4U.

Isabel and the team were delighted to visit today’s Ben’s Guitar session and it was a touching moment when Isabel heard Ben’s beloved instrument being played by our tutor Liam as the session began.
